Board Members

President - Constantina Fronimos-Baldwin is the current President Elect of TAMIT. Originally from Greece she has been in the US since 2002. She is a Certified Medical Interpreter in Spanish and has worked in the field of medical interpretation since 2005. She is currently working towards her Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Management degree with South University Online. She has graduated from the Level I and Level II Medical Interpreter Certificate Programs at the University of Memphis. She has completed studies in Communication Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires. Constantina is a founding member of TAMIT and was its first Secretary. She is currently the Coordinator of Interpreting Services for Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare in Memphis, TN. Constantina is also a member of the IMIA and the TAPIT. She has been the editor of the TAMIT newsletter since TAMIT’s beginnings and has written an article and presented at the 3rd Annual SERMIC on medical interpretation during Speech Language Pathology Sessions. Promoting medical interpreter high professional standards is one of Constantina’s passions.
Vice-President - Espi Ralston, MA, MAT, MA,CMI-Spanish,CHI is a native from Spain, who has been working as a health care interpreter for the past 11 years. Her experience in medical interpreting includes pediatric oncology and general medicine. Prior to becoming a medical interpreter, she worked as a college instructor for 15 years, teaching Spanish and French. She also co-founded Translation Resources, a translation agency in Memphis, TN to meet local needs. She has taken Train the Trainer courses from Kaiser Permanente (2004) and the Monterrey Institute (2010). From 2003-2005, she served as project director (planning phase) of En Memphis Hablamos Juntos, a national grant-based program funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to improve access to quality health care to Latinos as well as to increase the number and the quality of medical interpreters nationwide. Espi has managed health promotions for the Memphis Hispanic population through the University of Tennessee (UT), Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Foundation Research Center. Since 2005, she has been teaching the Health Care Interpreter Program, currently held at the University of Memphis, School of Public Health. She was one of the founding members of TAMIT and first president elect. She is a member of ATA, NCIHC, TAPIT and TAMIT. Secretary - Irma Brantley is the Secretary Elect of TAMIT. She was born in the US with roots and heritage stemming from Puerto Rico. She graduated Cumlaude from the University of Memphis and holds a Bachelor Degree in Foreign Language/Spanish and the Healthcare Interpreter Certificates, Level I and II. She presently is the Coordinator of Language Services at the Regional Medical Center (The MED) in Memphis Tennessee. She has worked in the Medical Interpreter Profession since 2009 and is also a member of the TAPIT.
Treasurer - Hanna Durand was born and raised in Mexico. She went to school in Puebla where she earned a bachelors degree in Business Administration by the Universidad Popular Autonoma del Estado de Puebla. Upon graduation, Hanna joined the accounting firm Freysinier – Morin, and later the manufacturing company Alta y Baja Densidad where she was responsible for account receivables and payroll consulting. She also worked as a sales representative in Encyclopedia Britannica. Hanna spent more than eight years living in the U.S., Turkey and Chile, where she volunteer work in non-profit organizations, such as the International Women Organization. Hanna and her family moved to Germantown, TN in 2004 where she has worked as a Spanish teacher at MLS and she joined the law firm Nahon, Saharovich and Trotz in 2007 as translator, interpreter and file auditor.
